Employee Assistance Programs
Advisory Service (DCPAS) develops and oversees civilian human resource plans, policies, and programs for more than 900,000 Department of Defense employees worldwide. Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and policies. EAPs are voluntary, work-based programs that offer free and confidential assessments, short-term counseling, community referrals, and follow-up services to employees who have personal and/or work-related problems. EAP counselors often consult with managers and supervisors to help address employee and organizational challenges and needs. Many EAPs are active in helping organizations prevent and cope with workplace violence, trauma, and other emergency response situations. Other services may include – and not limited to – back-up child care, legal advice services, personal financial planning, and realty services.
